Happy Father’s Day!

Since this edition of the Byrne Journal falls on Father’s Day, I’d like to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! Of course, I’d like to send a special shout-out to my dad, Bob Byrne, and to my father-in-law, Larry Rhodes!

Liquid Velvet

This past Friday saw Liquid Velvet return to the Smoky Mountain Brewery in Maryville, TN for the first time since the Coronavirus lock-down. The gigs are starting to pick back up as clubs and restaurants in various East Tennessee counties are allowed to start hiring entertainment again.

We’ve been adding some new tunes for Steve to sing while Alyssa is recovering. As you are probably aware by now, Alyssa is continuing to rest and recuperate her voice after her recent surgery to remove a nodule from her vocal folds. At our rehearsal this past Tuesday night we worked up “Oh, Sherrie” by Steve Perry and played it out live for the first time this weekend. We’ve also recently added “Runnin’ On Empty” by Jackson Browne, “Twice As Hard” by the Black Crowes, and have dusted off some previous setlist tunes like “Double Vision” by Foreigner.

Knoxville Academy of Music

Things continue to move forward for Knoxville Academy of Music as we are readying for the opening of our new location. The office staff has already been busy packing up a lot of stuff around the old location and are waiting for the chance to set everything back up in our shiny new location! All of us instructors are continuing to teach lessons online in the meantime – but we’re all very excited about the new facility!

251 Group

So, what do I do when I’m not performing or teaching music? Websites! Well, digital media in general. 251 Group is my home-based business for website development and all the things that go with it like domain names, web hosting, social media, SEO (search engine optimization). I’m a digital marketing maniac! Not to brag, but – well, ok yeah maybe to brag a little, but if you Google “bass lessons knoxville tn”, “banjo lessons knoxville tn”, or “mandolin lessons knoxville tn”, one or more of my web properties are going to show up on page 1 of the search results. I also help music schools and music teachers in other markets get their websites on page 1 of search results for music lessons in their cities.
