Byrne Journal Rebooted

Welcome to the re-introductory issue of Byrne Journal / Ryan’s Diary, my micro-newsletter. The Byrne Journal was last posted March 20th, 2020 on my Facebook page and was ceased shortly after due to the Coronavirus quarantine/lockdown. However, now the local economy is beginning to wake back up. Clubs and restaurants are beginning to hire bands again and the music school where I teach will soon be returning to in-person lessons again. So, I figured it was time to fire up the journal again. Previously, I only posted this journal on my Facebook page, but now upon reboot I’m going to publish it on my website and then share it to my social media.

Liquid Velvet Returns

These last few weekends have seen Liquid Velvet return to the stages at Smoky Mountain Brewery in Pigeon Forge, Calhoun’s at the Marina in Lenoir City, and the Stardust Marina in Andersonville as East Tennessee clubs and restaurants begin hiring bands again after the Coronavirus lockdown. However, we have had to do these first several shows without our co-lead vocalist Alyssa Laine due to her voice surgery. Alyssa had a nodule on her vocal folds and recently had it removed. Her voice will be recovering for about the next month or so and we CAN’T WAIT for her to join us again – she is VERY MISSED!

KAM Announces New Music School and Return To In-Person Lessons

After several months of online-only music lessons due to Coronavirus lockdown, Knoxville Academy of Music (KAM) students will soon be able to return to in-person lessons – AT A NEW SCHOOL! KAM announced it will be opening their new location at 165 West End Avenue in Farragut very close to their former location at 11230 Kingston Pike. I am VERY EXCITED to begin teaching from my new studio at the school – and to be able to walk to any of the seven restaurants right there in the same shopping center for my lunch breaks! Yes, I am always thinking about food. 😉
