Alyssa Laine Leaves Liquid Velvet

On August 26th, Alyssa Laine publicly announced via her Facebook Page that she was parting ways with Liquid Velvet. “I am taking this time to fully heal from my vocal [cord] surgery, write more music, and discover who I am as an artist.”, Laine said about her departure from the group. I know that I speak for all of us in the band when I say that Alyssa will be very missed by both the band members and our fans. She brought a great energy and impeccable vocal performance to the band. We certainly all wish her well in her future endeavors. As for where that leaves Liquid Velvet, we as a band have decided to carry on as a four-piece, and to adjust our set list accordingly from our massive repertoire.

Below is an embed of Alyssa’s Facebook post containing the announcement.

Education

KAM Holds Grand Opening Ceremony

Knoxville Academy of Music (KAM) held it’s Grand Opening Ceremony and ribbon cutting on Monday, August 31st. Present at the event were representatives from the Farragut Office of the Town Administrator, Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce, Shop Farragut, and other members of the local business community. Guests toured the new school and enjoyed cake and beverages. An impromptu jam session even broke out when of the guests hopped behind a drum set and was joined on piano by one of the school’s instructors.

Guitar Student Emma R Releases Performance Video On YouTube

Long time KAM guitar student Emma R has been studying with me for about the last four years now, and recently recorded a video performance of a fantastic fingerstyle guitar arrangement of “Another Brick In The Wall” by Pink Floyd. The arrangement is by Swedish guitarist and YouTube sensation Gabriella Quevedo, popularly known by her YouTube handle, Gabriella9797. Emma’s video was recorded in my studio at KAM. Check it out below!

Business

I was always told that when it comes to work, you have to do what you love. Well, I love music, I love education, and I love business. So it has always made perfect sense for me to be in the Music Education Business. ๐Ÿ™‚ Therefore, when I’m not performing or teaching, you will most likely find me at the computer working on various music lessons marketing websites. One of my newer business ventures being developed over the last couple of years is Music Ed Media (MEM). MEM owns about 200 premium music-lessons-related domains (such as GuitarLessonsLosAngeles.com and MusicLessonsNYC.com) and is developing them for lease or lead generation services for hire to music schools across the country. I even have one of my local Knoxville domains, PianoLessonsKnoxville.com, working for Knoxville Academy of Music. So if you ever see my Facebook posts about various music lessons websites for different cities around the country, you’ll understand the connection. ๐Ÿ™‚
